The grade 2 listed building, Ridgeway Methodist Church, has been granted planning permission to change the use from a chapel dating back to 1806 into a single storey, 3 bed property with an open planning living space.

The property is on the market for around £200,000 with SK Estate Agents, who claim the former church is an ‘outstanding restoration opportunity’ in a ‘sought after location’.

The sale is for the chapel which is standing in just under one acre of land and an adjoining field and the property retains many of its period features.

Full planning permission was granted on the 13th August 2019 for the “Conversion of Church to a single storey, three-bedroom dwelling with rear extension, addition of two parking spaces, black steel railings and formation of access”

The plans approved additionally allowed for the occupier to keep the pulpit where services would have been held for years, along with some of the pews on which the congregation will have sat as well as retaining much of the stained-glass windows.
